Lorraine Piskin

Lorraine Piskin has been a fine art photographer for many years. She ahs traveled to China, India, Ethiopia’s Omo Valley, Cuba, Cambodia, Iceland, and locations within the U.S.  But it wasn’t until 2009 that she encountered a living treasure of the Mediterranean, a special breed of horse, called the “Camargue” found in the marshes not far from Marseilles, the French Riviera and the Provencal towns frequented by Ernest Hemingway.  Lorraine has come back to the Camargue year after year, photographing these half-wild white horses in their secluded home in the delta of the Rhone River.  Since then her work has been recognized throughout the Long Island communities, as well as f the tri-state area.  She has had her art featured in galleries and has won awards in local competitions, art shows and juried photography contests.
